Fuzzrocious Pedals has revived its Dark Driving overdrive and distortion pedal with a third version. What started as a one-knob stompbox has grown into a more flexible tonal device that is still able to capture the original Dark Driving pedal’s sounds.

Following their highly successful debut of “Xanadu,” The Winery Dogs dropped the next single from their upcoming album, “III.” Richie Kotzen, Billy Sheehan, and Mike Portnoy bring it on “Mad World,” which ends perfectly with a solo by Sheehan.

Peter Gabriel has given us the first taste of his new music. “Panopticom” is the first single from his upcoming album, “I/O.” The track is anchored by Gabriel’s longtime bass man, Tony Levin, who delivers some expressive fretless work.

Derek Frank sent me his latest video, which he calls an “instrumental-ish cover of The Bee Gees’ “Jive Talkin'”, played with a handful of basses, vocoder, keys, and drums.” Derek is joined by Ty Bailie on keys and Jake Hayden on drums.

Ibanez got into the electric upright bass game in 2018 with the Upswing. Now they’ve added to the series with a five-string model called the UB805.

In this “Keep It Groovy” lesson, Ryan Madora dissects the fantastic melodic bass line to “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac. John McVie’s line perfectly outlines the chord progression and provides a nice contrast to the verses.
