Dingwall Unveils Limited Edition John Taylor Rio Dream Bass
Dingwall Guitars is in Anaheim at the NAMM Show to show off some of their work and reveal an incredible new artist model. The Limited Edition John Taylor Rio Dream Bass features a custom finish inspired by Duran Duran’s Rio album cover. Since it is based on the aesthetic of their 1982 album, Dingwall is limiting the bass to 82 pieces.
“Each bass is unique and comes with an individual number, as well as a Hipshot Drop D Xtender key, an onboard Rupert Neve Designs preamp, a special string pack, spare cream pickguard, and a custom gig bag,” the company writes.
Dingwall builds the Rio Dream with the multi-scale Novax Fanned-Fret System. The bass is crafted with a five-piece maple neck, a Nyatoh body, and a Macassar ebony fingerboard. Hardware includes lightweight open-gear Hipshot tuners and Dingwall’s “Minimalist” bridge.

The Dingwall Limited Edition John Taylor Rio Dream Bass will ship in the third quarter of 2023. It carries a street price of $2830.
