Frowin Ickler: (Don’t) Give Hate a Chance (Derrick McIntyre Tribute)

Frowin Ickler sent us this video, which pays tribute to Derrick McIntyre, who died after an automobile accident on February 2nd.

“I saw SBL’s amazing episode about the best Jamiroquai basslines and heard, that Derrick McIntyre died. So sad!,” Frowin shared. “Inspired by the podcast I decided to tribute this great bassplayer with my version of ‘(Don’t) Give Hate a Chance.’ Such a great bassline! The ‘disco-octaves’ are normally very hard to play but with my three-finger-right-hand-techniques it is much easier and it has a unique flow.
I hope you like my interpretation, especially the ‘gospel chops’ approach in the chorus of the song. R.I.P. Derrick McIntyre!”
