We’re all bass gear nerds here at NT HQ. It is clear that many of you are the same. Our bass gear coverage always ranks high on the site, and these ten stories ranked the highest among readers for July.
1. Fender Unveils the Bassman Pedal Series
Fender is upping their bass pedal game this year with a full Bassman line of pedals. The five new stompboxes include the Driver, Fuzz, Compressor, delay and reverb models.
2. Fender Unveils the Player II Series Basses
Since Fender launched the Player Series basses in 2018, it’s been one of their most successful lines. They expanded on it with the Player Plus models, but now they’ve revamped it with the Player II Series.
3. Ashen Amps Unveils the APG700.4 Bass Amp
Ashen Amps has announced a compact bass amp called the APG700.4. They say it was designed to deliver “pristine articulation and punch, catering to the discerning needs of professional bassists worldwide.”
4. Squier Adds Active Jazz Models and 6-String to Affinity Series Basses
Fender has expanded the Squier Affinity Series with three new basses: the Affinity Active Jazz Bass, the Active Jazz Bass V, and the Jazz Bass VI. The entry-level lineup makes it easier for bassists to acquire an active bass and a six-string.
5. Cort Introduces Artisan C Deluxe Basses
Cort has added to its Artisan line of basses with the C4 and C5 Deluxe. The Artisan C Deluxe model, available in four- and five-string versions, is built with bolt-on construction and features a lightweight poplar body, a hard maple neck, and a 24-fret jatoba fingerboard.
6. PJD Guitars Announces the St. John Bass
UK-based PJD Guitars has introduced a new four-string model called the St. John Bass. Based on their St. John guitar, the bass has an offset obeche body with a belly cut and armrest contours.
7. Fuchs Audio Introduces the FAT112 Series of Bass Cabinets
Fuchs Audio has expanded its bass cabinet lineup with a new 1×12? unit. The FAT112 features a ported design and can be ordered with either a Neodymium or Ferrite-style speaker.
8. Spector Announces New Euro CST and Euro LX Basses
Spector’s Euro line of basses have some new additions with the Euro CST and Euro LX basses. Both lines are fitted with the all-new Spector Legacy preamp, which was developed with Darkglass Electronics.
9. Aguilar Amplification Unveils Limited Edition NYC Gold Skyline Tone Hammer Preamp Pedal
Aguilar Amplification has announced a third iteration of the NYC edition of its Tone Hammer preamp pedal. The Limited Edition NYC Gold Skyline Tone Hammer, which is hand-serialized and limited to 100 units, pays tribute to the company’s roots in New York City.
10. Panda Audio Announces the Future Impact V4 Pedal
Panda Audio has once again refined the Future Impact with a fourth revision. The highly versatile pedal gives you synthesizer sounds as well as an octaver, chorus, flanger, phaser, distortion, envelope filter, wah-wah, tremolo, reverb, and more.
