Jazz bassist and composer Ben Wolfe has released a new album called “Fatherhood,” which pays homage to his father, Dan Wolfe, who passed away in 2018.

British singer Emeli Sandé has returned with her third studio album, entitled “Real Life.” If you get really into those grooves, it may be thanks in part to session ace Pino Palladino laying down the bass lines.

Bryan Beller is one busy guy. Between his work with The Aristocrats, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and more, he’s been running nonstop. So it’s no surprise that it’s been eleven years since his last solo album. Check out his latest: “Scenes From the Flood.”

The trio KXM has returned with a new album called “Circle of Dolls,” which marks the supergroup’s third album. The band features Dug Pinnick of King’s X on vocals/bass, George Lynch of Lynch Mob/Dokken on guitars, and Ray Luzier of Korn on drums.

The Black Star Riders have returned with their fourth studio album, entitled “Another State of Grace.” The band, which began as a spin-off from Thin Lizzy’s touring band, once again sees former RATT bassist Robbie Crane holding down the low end.

It’s been 50 years since the Allman Brothers Band was formed, and the celebration is continuing with the release of their explosive live performance at the Fillmore West in 1971. Bassist Berry Oakley was in top shape with the band and even took to singing “Hoochie Coochie Man.”

Bassist and producer Brady Watt have teamed up with rapper Bishop Nehru to release “The Real Book, Vol. 1.” The five-song album blends Watt’s hip-hop bass lines into thicker textures with Nehru spitting bars over top.

Redd Kross is back with a new album called “Beyond The Door.” The group, founded by brothers Jeff McDonald (vocals/guitar) and Steve McDonald (bass/vocals), offers unique blend of ’60s and ’70s psychedelic, with shades of punk.

Dywane “MonoNeon” Thomas, Jr. has released a second album for 2019. “Living The Best And Worst Life At The Same Damn Time!” Contains eight songs of quirky lyrics, infectious beats, and unreal bass playing.

After publishing his book “Let Love Have the Last Word,” Common has released a new album more simply entitled “Let Love.” Burniss Travis, who performs on bass, is also credited with writing and production on the album.

Sons of Apollo released a new live album taken from their one-off performance at the Ancient Roman Theatre in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. “Live With the Plovdiv Psychotic Symphony” captures the band with a symphony performing songs from their debut album and more.

Steve Lawson has released a new album that marks his 30th solo album in 20 years. As with nearly all of his work, “The Arctic is Burning” is an instrumental, improvised solo bass record that is thoughtful and beautiful.
