Bryan Beller is one busy guy. Between his work with The Aristocrats, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and more, he’s been running nonstop. So it’s no surprise that it’s been eleven years since his last solo album. Check out his latest: “Scenes From the Flood.”

John Patitucci will be honored at this year’s London Bass Guitar Show with a Lifetime Achievement Award from Bass Player Magazine. The annual award has previously been given to artists ranging from Bootsy Collins to Carol Kaye.

Elton John’s massive farewell tour just got a bit bigger. The “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour, which began in 2018 and is slated to run through 2021, has added a new batch of dates. Matt Bissonette, who joined the group in 2012, will be on the tour.

Stanley Clarke is continuing his world tour this fall with dates across Europe and the United States. The band’s current lineup features Shariq Tucker, Cameron Graves, Beka Gochiashvili, Sala Nader, and Evan Garr.

After being forced to cancel their December tour, the electrifying improv quartet Whose Hat Is This? (with Tim Lefebvre) has announced a new set of dates. The outing is scheduled for November with performances along the East Coast.

The trio KXM has returned with a new album called “Circle of Dolls,” which marks the supergroup’s third album. The band features Dug Pinnick of King’s X on vocals/bass, George Lynch of Lynch Mob/Dokken on guitars, and Ray Luzier of Korn on drums.

The Black Star Riders have returned with their fourth studio album, entitled “Another State of Grace.” The band, which began as a spin-off from Thin Lizzy’s touring band, once again sees former RATT bassist Robbie Crane holding down the low end.

Bob Dylan is into the 30th year of his “Never Ending Tour,” and he’s just added more North American dates to the affair. 2019 also marks three decades that Dylan has been joined by bassist Tony Garnier, who is his longest-running sideman.

R.E.M. has released a previously unheard song to support relief efforts in the Bahamas. “Fascinating” was recorded in 2004 at Nassau’s Compass Point Studios and was originally scheduled to appear on 2001’s “Reveal” before it was cut at the last minute.

The 11th Annual Rocky Mountain Bass Slam has announced a new lineup for their headliners. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Chuck Rainey will not be able to attend. However, the slot has been filled by groove guru Cody Wright.

It’s been 50 years since the Allman Brothers Band was formed, and the celebration is continuing with the release of their explosive live performance at the Fillmore West in 1971. Bassist Berry Oakley was in top shape with the band and even took to singing “Hoochie Coochie Man.”

Bassist and producer Brady Watt have teamed up with rapper Bishop Nehru to release “The Real Book, Vol. 1.” The five-song album blends Watt’s hip-hop bass lines into thicker textures with Nehru spitting bars over top.
