Stanley Clarke is embarking on a worldwide summer tour with his band that will take him to the U.S., Europe, and Africa.

Ron Carter has teamed up with painter and poet Danny Simmons for a new album called “The Brown Beatnik Tomes – Live at BRIC House.” The album features Simmons performing readings from his 2014 book with Carter accompanying him on bass.

Josephine Wiggs has released a solo album, entitled “We Fall.” While she is known for her work in the alt-rock band The Breeders (especially for the bass line for “Cannonball”), the new record takes a much different direction.

With a European tour just ahead, CKY has announced that bassist Matt Deis has left the band. The group posted a statement from Deis on their Facebook page.

Ministry has announced a new bassist among their ranks after Tony Campos has left to pursue the Static-X reunion tour. Al Jourgensen and crew will be anchored by former Tool bassist Paul D’Amour. He will be on the road with Ministry this summer.

The Claypool Lennon Delirium have added a new set of dates to their summer tour with a string of August performances. The band, helmed by Les Claypool and Sean Lennon, will bring their live act to U.S. cities between August 9th and the 17th.

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has announced the 2020 class of NEA Jazz Masters, which is described as the “highest honor that our nation bestows on jazz artists.” The 2020 recipients include bassist Reggie Workman.
