Carlos Henriquez has been studying the history of Latin Jazz for most of his life. Now he’s released a new solo album called “A Nuyorican Tale,” which expands the scope from his own experiences into the history of Puerto Ricans in New York.

Bass great Viktor Krauss has graced many albums with his otherworldly tone, and now we bassists have another one to cherish. He’s just teamed up with Dave Matthews Band saxophonist and drummer Jordan Perlson to release “Coffin/Perlson/Krauss.”

At long last, Oteil Burbridge’s new solo album “Lovely View of Heaven” has been released. The record pays tribute to the music of Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter, especially their ballads.

Tool bassist Justin Chancellor has announced he has a new album coming this fall. MTVoid, his duo with Sweet Noise/Serce vocalist Peter Mohamed, will drop their second album, “Matter’s Knot, Pt. 1,” on November 10th.

It’s a big year for bassist Moto Fukushima. After releasing a solo album in August, his band House of Waters has returned with “On Becoming.” The album features drummer Antonio Sanchez, guitarist Mike Stern, and vocalist Priya Darshini.

In April, AC/DC announced they would perform at the Power Trip Festival in October, marking their first concert since 2016. It will be the first live return of vocalist Brian Johnson, and now we’ve learned that bassist Cliff Williams is coming out of retirement for it.

Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” turns 50 this year. Now, a new deluxe edition of the album has been packaged with an additional 33 bonus tracks, including 18 previously unreleased.

Marleaux Bass Guitars has announced the return of their Tiefgang Bass Camp. The annual event, which has been on hold since the pandemic started, will take place from September 15th through the 17th.
