Cory Wong and Dirty Loops have teamed up for a new album, which is releasing later this year. Here’s “Follow the Light”, the first cut from “Turbo”. As always, Henrik Linder showcases his amazing skills on this track and even takes a solo.

The ARP Odyssey and Minimoog are legendary tools for synth bass. In this video, we hear a nice comparison between the two, and from the first few notes, we can hear what makes each synth special.

One of the albums to really get me into jazz was the Oscar Peterson Trio’s “We Get Requests”. Ray Brown’s playing on that record is outstanding, especially his feature on “You Look Good To Me”. Here’s a live version of the song, recorded in 1965.

NPR Music just posted this incredible Tiny Desk (Home) Concert featuring The Isley Brothers. The band gets down with four tunes during this performance, anchored by Maurice Fitzgerald.

Nenad Vasilic sent us his latest video with this note: “Here is a new video of a Bass Jam with amazing odd rhythm tune in 11/8!” The jam took place in Vienna with Nenad and Vladimir Samardzic.

For her latest video, Juliaplaysgroove asked her friend, guitarist Michal Rajca, to join her to create the “ultimate funk experience”. The duo does indeed get super funky playing along to Cory Wong’s “Design”.

Federico Malaman shared this incredible video a few days ago of a live performance he did with Ricky Quagliato and Fabio Valdemarin. In this clip, they burn through Michel Camilo interpretation’s of “Perdido”.

Today’s video comes from Prince’s “Welcome 2 America” Deluxe Edition Blu Ray and his performance “Live at the Forum 4/28/11”. Ida Nielsen lays down the funky groove, and then Prince grabs a bass and takes it to the next level.

We’ve been waiting all week for the premiere of this Ghost-Note video, from their Live Acoustic Sugarshack Session. In this one, they perform their original tune, “Weedie B. Good”, and as usual, MonoNeon lays down the groove. Funky, as always!

Tech 21’s Dale Krevens sent us this video by 9-year-old bassist Ellen Alaverdyan. In this clip, she plays along to Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” (and she nailed it).
