Áron Hodek (aka “Áron The Bassist”) is back with Part 2 of his Q&A videos. Áron answers more viewer questions and lets us in on his practice routine and other topics.

With each new video the REO Brothers shares, I’m more convinced there’s nothing this band can’t pull off. Here’s their latest, with a superb cover of Dire Straits’ hit tune, “Sultans of Swing.”

Martin Miller has a new video, and this time around he’s joined by Kirk Fletcher on guitar. Once again, Benni Jud handles the low end for the band, who performs a cover of Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love”.

Leland Sklar shared this video on Facebook, from a November 2020 session at Judith Owen’s house. In this clip, Judith, Lee, and Pedro Segundo perform “Arianne”, with some tasty lines and harmonics by Lee, who really drives the tune.

Bassist Simon Paré sent us this video of a very ambitious performance. Simon got together members of the Canadian Armed Forces Big Band and created an entirely virtual video performance of “Soul Intro” and “The Chicken”.

Jimmy Haslip shared a video on Facebook the other day from bassist Edgar Pagan and the song “Taino Spirit”. In this clip, Haslip plays a Cuatro and percussion. I love this sound!

Chance Wilder Onody shared this video on our Facebook Group, and I was knocked out by it. “The Music That Was Us” showcases Chance playing nearly 100 instrumental parts. Doane Perry, (Jethro Tull, Laughing Gull Studio) handles drums.

No Treble reader Antonis Mikelis sent us this video of his bass/vocals duet with Sofia Douklia. In this clip, they perform Cecilia Krull’s “My Life Is Going On”, from “Money Heist”.

Whenever a new video by Fernando Lamadrid hits my radar, I watch it right away. Here’s a brand-new clip from him of the tune, “Equinoccio,” from his latest album, “De Paso”. The instrumentation and musicianship with this one are incredible.

We have some serious funk for y’all today!! In this clip we have Chris Grey & The Bluespand with bassist Kasper Lauersen. Man, that is some serious thumping on that P Bass.

In addition to being a bass player, I’m also an engineer. I love old microphones and such. I thought this was a cool video detailing how Paul McCartney got his bass sound in his days at Abbey Road. Love that Hofner tone!

Our friend Art Araya sent us this excellent clip of the Adrian Belew Power Trio and their performance of “E”. Julie Slick brings it on this track, and Jordan Perlson is on drums. (And there’s a bonus video, too!)
