Leland Sklar has filled this time of social distancing with some incredible videos. This one starts with Leland playing along to a live clip of Toto’s “Rosanna”, which features a great jam section. After the track, he talks about the performance and more.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a video from Snarky Puppy, but they recently released this remixed and remastered version of “Flood” from “Tell Your Friends”. The tune was written by Michael League, who handles both bass and keybass on the track.

While we first learned of Leonid Vorobyev and his band, Leonid & Friends, by their incredible Chicago covers, they’ve done a handful of others. Now they’re taking on The Brecker Brothers’ 1979 hit, “East River.”

While reviewing their “Tiny Desk” archives, NPR found some that hadn’t been shared on their Youtube channel, like this one. Recorded in July 2010, here’s an excellent clip of Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, and Zakir Hussain performing “Bubbles” and “Bahar”.

It has been quite some time since we’ve seen a video by Simon Fitzpatrick. Luckily, he’s back with another stunning solo bass performance. In this clip, he performs “Haumea, the Bringer of Fire” from his album, “The Dwarf Planets Suite.”

Tim Starace and YYNOT have a new video out, which they shared on Sunday. “Hourglass” was the first track on their self-titled debut album. As always, we love Tim’s growly tone!

Scary Pockets is back with another cover – sometimes chill, and sometimes funky. Featuring vocalist/drummer Elise Trouw, the band covers Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.” Nick Campbell provides the foundation on a 1965 Fender P-Bass.

Christian Kussmann sent us this video of his band Fremde Federn. The band performs their own interpretations of popular tunes, like this one: Nirvana’s “Come As You Are”.

I’ve played sax almost as long as I’ve played bass, so this video by The Fearless Flyers hits me on many levels. In this clip, the Flyers cover the Vulfpeck tune, “Adrienne & Adrianne.” Both versions feature the mighty Joe Dart!
