The Who is releasing a new album on December 6th. But they got our attention today by sharing this clip of them performing “Baba O’Riley,” filmed on B-Stage at Shepperton Studios in 1978.

Back in 2008, Foo Fighters took the stage at Wembley Stadium. During the show, they were joined by some very special guests: Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page. So, of course, they decided to perform a Zeppelin tune.

“Funk #49” is one of my favorite tunes from back in the day, thanks to the killer bass line. Here’s a great clip of the James Gang on the Howard Stern Show back in 2006 performing the tune at Stern’s request.

Sometimes an older video hits the radar that’s so good, I have to check our archives to make sure we haven’t shared it before. Four years ago, Anton Davidyants teamed up with Valeriy Stepanov to record a cover of Mike Mainieri’s “Self Portrait.”

Chris Thile’s “Live from Here” show has a tradition: “If you’re on the show during your birthday week, you get to choose a song to play...” The show’s musical director and bassist, Mike Elizondo, chose “YYZ” for his birthday.

We’ve featured Aram Bedrosian’s excellent tune, “A Dark Light” before. He’s now recorded an acoustic version, using his Ortega Guitars Striped Suite ACB. I’ve always loved this tune, and it is cool to hear as an acoustic version.

It’s a great day when The Main Squeeze releases a new video. “Piranha” is a hard-hitting, groovy tune, anchored by bassist Rob Walker, and performed in and around a pool!

Wojtek Stanisz shared this video with us of his band, Samurai Trio, performing a unique cover of the Miles Davis classic “All Blues.”

In 2015, Eric Clapton celebrated his 70th birthday with a tour. In this clip, recorded at Royal Albert Hall, Nathan East kicks things off with a fantastic intro, before taking on the lead vocals while throwing down some tasty bass lines.

Earlier this week, we featured a “Bass Battle” video between Davie504 and Charles Berthoud. Now Zander Zon has thrown his hat in the ring, with an awesome (and hilarious) video he created with Berthoud.

I recently went on a search for videos of Dee Murray (which, unfortunately, are hard to find). This clip came with the claim that this is Murray’s isolated bass on Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting.”

Back in 2013, Tommy Igoe performed with The Buddy Rich Big Band. In this clip, they perform Pee Wee Ellis’ tune, “The Chicken.” Will Lee lays down some seriously great bass on this one.
