I’ve been hooked on listening to Kenneth “Kaybass” Diggs lately. He has insane chops, but his sensitive touch is what makes the music. That’s on display in this clip where he does a gospel bass medley centered around “Amazing Grace.”

We’ve featured a handful of videos by guitarist Martin Miller, but none quite like this. In this clip, Martin is joined by Paul Gilbert in this live studio performance of Rush’s “YYZ.” Benni Jud drives some gnarly tone behind the band.

As bassist for the Sci-Fi Middle Eastern Fusion band Consider the Source, you may not have expected John Ferrara to drop a Stone Temple Pilots cover. But that’s exactly what he just did.

Led Zeppelin’s classic “Kashmir” features an epic arrangement filled out with strings, horns, and a mellotron. David Sutkin, Lukas Kuban and Adrian Maruszczyk decided to take things the other way by rocking it out with two basses and a drumset.

In October, Vulfpeck packed Madison Square Garden for a concert. The band has just announced a live album from the show, and a video to go along with it. Joe Dart shows another side on this, helping with the vocals in this intro of “Back Pocket.”

South Africa’s Mabuta just dropped a live video for their new song, “She,” and it’s sure to get you grooving. The song kicks off with a chordal bass line by bandleader Shane Cooper before the horns come in with a laid back melody.

Here’s a great clip recorded during a 1993 rehearsal with Bootsy Collins and his band. It is cool to see Bootsy directing the group and playing his funky lines. Check out his reaction around the 4:05 mark to Bernie Worrell’s epic clavinet run.

This is one of those funk songs that is just so fun to play. “Skin Tight” was a hit in 1974 and it holds up thanks to the bass line by Marshall “Rock” Jones. Here’s a clip taken from the Dutch TV show TopPop.

This new video just hit my radar, and I’m glad it did. Here’s The Saab Guitar Project, featuring Douglas Saab, Nathan East, Vinnie Colaiuta, and Greg Phillinganes performing the tune, “Police.”

Our friend Will Lee shared this video a couple of days ago from a 1991 performance of “Mad About You” by Sting on Late Night With David Letterman. “I need to thank him for generously letting me have a crack at that great bass part,” Will shared.

Zander Zon is back with another incredible video featuring his Harp Bass. In this clip, he not only showcases his impressive ability to handle this beast of an instrument but also his arrangement skills once again on this performance of the Tears For Fears tune, “Mad World.”
