Joe Dart and Vulfpeck Tear Through “1612” Live at Montreux Jazz Fest

Vulfpeck took the stage at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in July and wasted no time getting into the groove.

The band kicked things off with “3 on E” before launching into “1612,” with Antwaun Stanley on vocals and Joe Dart holding down that unmistakable bass line.

Joe is playing his Sterling by Music Man Joe Dart Vision, the signature bass with a single pickup and absolutely no controls. Not even a volume knob.

“1612” originally appeared on Vulfpeck’s 2014 EP Fugue State, and it has been a fan favorite ever since. We actually featured the original video back in 2014, along with some great details about how Dart recorded the bass part.

This performance is just three minutes long but it absolutely rips. Joe’s playing is tight, punchy, and right in the pocket. Everything we love about Vulfpeck.
