Fuchs Audio Introduces FBS and FBT Bass Combos with Unique Adjustable Cabinet Design

Fuchs Audio FBT Combo Amp

Fuchs Audio has expanded its lineup of bass amplification with the FBS and FBT combo amps. Each model is crafted using the same techniques and materials as their speaker cabinets and ODH combos, including a 12-inch Celestion Neo bass driver, lightweight maple-jacketed poplar core plywood, a sprayed-on exterior coating, fan cooling, and Penn-Elcom hardware.

They also have an unusual feature to accommodate upright or electric basses.

“The unique tuned & ported cabinet design features adjustable porting for acoustic or electric bass optimization,” the company writes. “All it takes is a screwdriver to add or remove the (supplied) port cover. Installed, it tightens the low end for enhanced tight and percussive electric bass tones. Remove it to a provide fuller looser low-end response for acoustic and upright tones.”

The FBS and FTB combos are based on the bass amps of the same name. The FBT is based on the SVT and features a hybrid tube/FET preamp, whereas the FBS is inspired by Walter Woods’ amp designs. (Read more about them here.) They also have an output for an extension cabinet, which can double their wattage. Finally, the new combos weigh in around 32 pounds.

The Fuchs Audio FBS Combo and FBT Combo are available now for $1,699 and $1,899, respectively.

This is awesome and shows FUCHS is serious about Bass amplification.
I’ve not heard their bass amps but their guitar amps are amazing.
I’d only expect the same of their bass amps.
