For Zander Zon’s 50th solo bass video, he went back to one of his favorite movies for inspiration. Zander found the soundtrack for Braveheart to be “amazingly beautiful music”, and arranged the main theme for solo bass. For this arrangement, his bass is tuned B, Eb, Db, Gb.

One of the most popular videos we’ve ever shared is Viktor Lörincz’s “Boomerang,” back in 2011. We even had Stuart Clayton transcribe it. Now Lörincz is back with “Return of the Boomerang,” a bass solo that builds on his previous and most popular video. This one’s got it all: slapping, tapping, chords, and of course, a deep groove.

Willy González is one of my favorite bassists. His unique approach draws from traditional Latin American folk styles with strumming and fingerstyle techniques on his 6-string bass. Here’s Willy performing the song “29 Mineros de San Albino”:

Armin Metz has created a piece of art with his latest video for his song “Infin.” Using harmonics and a long reverb, Metz builds an ethereal soundscape with a minimalist video of just himself and his bass.

Adam Stevens always impresses us with his solo bass arrangements. Here he is with one of his latest – a live bass loop version of Little Dragon’s “Twice”.
