Vega plays two beautiful solo bass versions of the carols “Silent Night” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” on his Ribbecke bass and his 1966 Fender Jazz, affectionately named “Gumby.”

Jim Joel Santos knocks us out with his bass playing and arrangements of tunes. Jim recently shared one of his newest videos, this time performing Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature” with some tasty bass playing and soloing.

Here’s bassist Gheorghe Postoronca performing his most excellent solo bass song “On The Road” from his upcoming album. Postoronca shares that the tune – which features beautiful jazzy chords and a killer groove – was inspired by the novel of the same name by Jack Kerouac. Bravo!

Giorgio Terenziani knocked us out with his “bass orchestra” arrangement of The Police tune, “Everything She Does Is Magic”. Giorgio performs this using five basses: three standard and two micro basses. He says he usually plays this during clinics with a loop station, but decided to layer all the different sections together for this video. Pretty amazing.

Jean Baudin has released his first official music video for the song “Dhalsim” from his new album, Mechanisms. This performance of the song, which is based on the Street Fighter 2 character, was recorded live at the 2013 California Extreme Arcade show. Baudin uses his 11-string bass and extensive pedalboard to get some awesome sounds and textures.

The very first video we shared by Kimberly Lynn (almost 4 years ago) was really popular, thanks to Kimberly’s great approach to solo bass. Here’s Kimberly once again, in a performance filmed just a couple of weeks ago at The Gig Spot in Gig Harbor, Washington. Even the city has a cool name! Dig this “Funk Fun”…
