Our friend Grant Stinnett sent us his latest video showcasing what he typically does in a live show setting for solo bass. Armed with his bass, a BOSS GT-10 and some stunning technique, here’s Grant’s performance of “Primal”.

Gallien-Krueger has released the second video in their new artist series featuring a fantastic bass solo from Carlitos Del Puerto. The bassist, whose career highlights include work with Bruce Springsteen, Chris Botti and Chick Corea, blends several genres into a classical leaning solo.

No, it’s not the famed Ozzy Osbourne song, but Gheorghe Postoronca’s “Crazy Train” is epic. The bassist combines a deep pocket with some extended techniques to make a catchy solo bass tune. “Crazy Train” will be featured on Postoronca’s upcoming second solo album.

I randomly stumbled upon the work of Matt Gruebner – aka Maxgroover – over the weekend. His solo bass performance of The Beatles’ “Hey Jude” really knocked me out. Matt is performing this on a Nash Jazz bass.
