Jim Bennett: All Bass Daft Punk “Get Lucky” Cover
Here’s a video that’s just plain remarkable on so many levels. First, the back story. Bassist Jim Bennett was taken to the hospital on January 1st, 2013, where he was diagnosed with necrotizing pancreatitis and given a 10% chance of surviving. Thankfully, he beat the odds. After he recovered, he realized how important music was in his life. “I did...

In honor of Independence Day, we celebrate the only way we know how, musically speaking. Norm Stockton’s solo bass performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” is just perfect for the occasion. Happy Fourth!

Olivier Babaz: Bass & Kalimba Cover of “Message in a Bottle”
Olivier Babaz continues to amaze me with each video he puts out. His specialty is playing upright bass and kalimba simultaneously, and this time he’s putting the combo to use on The Police’s “Message in a Bottle.” Impressive!
Zander Zon: Linkin Park’s “Numb” Solo Bass Arrangement
Zander Zon has shared his latest – a solo bass arrangement of Linkin Park’s “Numb”. Enjoying this one, and at the same time, I’m wondering what Zander will do next.
Simon Fitzpatrick: “Roundabout” Live Solo Bass Performance
Simon Fitzpatrick is a guy who constantly pushes himself to see what can be done on the bass. Here’s the latest example: an incredibly intricate solo bass version of the classic Yes track “Roundabout.” After putting it all together with just his bass and his hands, Fitzpatrick builds the piece with a looper to lay a superb solo overtop.

Bassist Mats Ödahl sent us this remarkable video he made of himself playing along to a Charlie Parker solo. Mats has some lofty goals, which he seems to be living up to. This year I [will] try to learn and upload a solo to my Youtube channel every (or every other) week,” he shared with us. “That is to keep...

Bass Orchestra: All Bass Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg Medley
Bass Orchestra, AKA Ran Mussman, put together this awesome all bass mashup of the Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg songs “Still D.R.E.” and “The Next Episode.” All of the sounds he plays are made on his bass, with a little help from his DAW. Mussman also takes a crack at replicating the video with cars and girls. Well done, sir.
Evan Marien: Eldridge Mach 2
Whenever Evan Marien shares a new video with us, I usually stop what I’m doing to watch it. Here’s Evan’s latest, “Eldridge Mach 2” – a tune he wrote and performed using his bass, a looper, a Hot Hand and a laptop. It all adds up to some pretty incredible sounds coming from a bass.

The one man band known as Zander Zon has turned in another exceptional video, this time performing his tune, “Oracles of Her”. The song is from Zander’s album Saturn Return (also check out the Track by Track feature on that album). In the Track by Track feature, Zander shared that the tune spanned his musical years, with a nod to...
Adam Stevens: Solo Bass Loop Arrangement of Bootsy Collins’ “I’d Rather Be With You”
Adam Stevens has impressed us in the past with his solo bass arrangements, but I’m not sure I’ve enjoyed any more than this one. Here’s Adam’s arrangement of “I’d Rather Be With You”, from Bootsy Collins’ 1976 album Stretchin’ Out In Bootsy’s Rubber Band.
