Stuart Clayton always provides amazing lessons and transcriptions. In this clip, he walks through the bass line on “Teen Town,” written by Jaco Pastorius and released on the Weather Report album, “Heavy Weather.”

René Flächsenhaar shared this video recently on Facebook, and it was just what I needed. Heavytones hit the studio back in February and recorded this video for “Hockepocke.” So old school cool!

The duo of bassist John Ferrara and percussionist Seth Moutal recently premiered a new concert film from their January 2019 performance at The Museum of Modern Renaissance. This incredible video is full of amazing energy as Ferrara and Moutal push themselves musically.

Petros Klampanis and his trio may be all quarantined at their own homes, but that doesn’t stop the music. The bassist, pianist Kristjan Randalu, and percussionist Bodek Janke worked remotely to record the new song, “No Becomes Yes.”

Viaceslav Svedov is back! He said this he hasn’t posted a video since 2015, and we’ve missed him. In this new video, he broke out his Music Man StingRay 40th Anniversary “Old Smoothie” bass to perform what he calls “Nasty Funk.”

Mai Leisz has just released a fantastic new single called “Skies Above Salkantay,” which features guitarist Mike Landau, drummer Gary Novak, and her husband Greg Leisz on pedal steel and guitar. The track is accompanied by a beautiful music video.

A few days ago, Vulfpeck shared the exciting news that they have a new album coming out. Here’s a preview of “Vulf Vault 001: Antwaun Stanley,” with the tune “3 on E.”

Christian Fabian has been helping to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Marleaux Bass Guitars with a series of videos using their Contra model. For the effort, he put together a trio featuring organist Ron Oswanski and drum legend Bernard Purdie.
