Our friend Bryan Ladd shared a video by a project he’s been involved in over the last year or so. The band is Progger, and this is their tune “Endorphin.” Bryan gets in a short but sweet solo at the end. The song appeared on Progger’s album, which was released back in April.

El Ten Eleven multi-instrumentalist Kristian Dunn has just released a new solo ambient album called . Besides beautiful pads, the album is full of intimate and introspective bass playing. Check out the video for the new song, “Staring at Screens” to see what we mean:

Gheorghe Postoronca always brings a personal level to his solo bass songs. His latest, “The Light From Inside”, is no exception. The bassist utilizes a capo on four of his six strings along with strumming to create glorious harmonies and textures. It sounds like he is singing through his instrument, which is something many of us strive for.

Here’s a great clip of a Jeff Beck Band performance at Madison Square Garden in 2013. The tune, “Women of Ireland”, is a subdued one, featuring some sweet lines by bassist Tal Wilkenfeld. The band also includes Lizzie Ball on violin and Jonathan Joseph on drums.

No Treble reader Michelangelo Brandimarte shared this video with us of his bass and vocals duo, Up&Down. Joined by vocalist Claudia Pantalone, they cover “Twisted” and “The Dry Cleaner from Des Moines”. This one swings!

Charles Berthoud is getting a lot of attention on his new video. After watching it, we can see why. Here’s “Reflections” – a composition Charles wrote for solo piccolo bass.

It’s always exciting to see a new Jesús Rico Pérez video hit the feed. Here’s Jesús’ latest – a tune he calls “Looking Back”, which showcases his great composition skills and remarkable tone once again.

Cigir Kazimoglu sent us this video of him performing Victor Wooten’s most excellent tune, “U Can’t Hold No Groove.” The video even caught the eye of Vic on Facebook, who said “Very nice! I like it!” That should say it all.

Diego Tarantino shared this video with us, where he took the Pat Metheny tune “Better Days Ahead” and turned it into a lead bass arrangement. A few things struck me about this performance: Diego’s smooth playing, how much fun he is having, and how one of the greatest albums is on display behind him.

Simone Masina shared his latest video with us, featuring his duo with Angelica Lubian known as Peekaboom. “This is our new cover, the brand new hit from Adele,” he shared. “I had this idea in my head to make a cover using the double bass as a multi-percussion kit… so we did it!”

Andreas Oxholm is a recent graduate of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (aka the Paul McCartney School). He sent us this video of a solo bass performance of his original composition, “Ingrid”. Enjoy.
