Modest Mouse is gearing up for the 30th anniversary of their debut album, This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About. Or technically, they’re gearing down. The indie rock heroes have announced they’re selling a wide-ranging collection of their guitars, basses, vintage synths, amps, and more on Reverb.

“Since their formation in the mid-‘90s, Modest Mouse have captivated audiences with Brock’s heady lyrics and the band’s artistic sound — alternating between slow, dark songs like 2000’s ‘Perfect Disguise,’ driving, melodic tracks like 2007’s ‘Fire It Up,’ and high octane records like 2004’s ‘Bury Me With It,'” the online marketplace shares. “Since the release of This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About in 1996, the band has sold millions of albums—including the 2x platinum, Grammy-nominated Good News for People Who Love Bad News—and toured across the globe, amassing a legion of fans. Now, they can own the gear used to make some of their favorite hits.”

The list includes a Presto Recording Model A-93, a GML Model 8200, a ’70s Ludwig LM400 Supraphonic snare, a Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor, and more. Most importantly for us bassists, the band is selling a Danelectro Dano ’63 Long Scale Bass that was “played at probably hundreds of Modest Mouse shows in the last 20 years,” said Modest Mouse.

Additionally, they are unloading an Aria Violin bass, an LTD bass, a Peavey Patriot, and a made-in-Japan Fender P bass, all used by the band over the years.

Reverb will be giving away a Hondo II Banjo the band discovered around the time of their debut album. “The banjo was collected on the road during the late 90’s when the band was starting to experiment with different instruments in an effort to expand their sound and broaden their songwriting,” said Modest Mouse.

The Modest Mouse Shop will go live on December 17th. Until then, you can get a preview of the offerings and sign up for notifications via Reverb.
