As a member of the Grateful Dead, Bob Weir is well known for his live performances. Now he’s released a new album with Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros called “Live in Colorado” that showcases his new band’s live chops.

Pianist Ethan Iverson has released a new trio album. “Every Note Is True” is his debut on the Blue Note label, and for the occasion, he tapped the masterful rhythm section of Jack DeJohnette and Larry Grenadier.

UK grindcore heroes Napalm Death have returned with an eight-song mini-album called “Resentment is Always Seismic – a final throw of Throes”. Shane Embury’s shredding bass lines continue to be a foundation of the band’s sound.

Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators (aka SMKC) have released their fourth studio album, aptly entitled “4”. SMKC is anchored by bassist Todd Kerns, who lays down solid bass lines with a thick, gritty tone on the record.

Metal mainstays Korn have returned with their fourteenth studio album, entitled “Requiem”. While Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu has been on hiatus from the band, it’s still his rumbling bass lines that fill out the record’s thick textures.

In his music career over the past six decades, John Mayall has had the pick of amazing bassists. For the past two decades, he’s been joined by Greg Rzab, who also anchors the blues legend’s latest album, “The Sun is Shining Down”.

St. Paul & The Broken Bones have released “The Alien Coast”, which ATO Records calls their “most adventurous and original output yet.” It expands past their classic soul sound to lean into rock, psychedelia, stoner metal, gospel, and jazz-funk.

The mighty Jethro Tull have returned with their first studio album in nearly 20 years. The Zealot Gene has been in the works since 2017 when the band’s hiatus came to an end. It also marks David Goodier’s first studio album with the group.

Boris Kozlov has released a new solo album that is his first for the Posi-Tone label. “First Things First” features an incredible cast of musicians including Art Hirahara, Donny McCaslin, Behn Gillece, and Rudy Royston.
