Gwar is hitting the road again this fall for the “Use Your Collusion” tour. The tour will be the first without bassist Jamison Land portraying Beefcake the Mighty, but fans of the band will have a familiar overlord laying down the low end.

Charnett Moffett has returned with “Bright New Day.” The exploratory release pushes the bassist in a new direction on his own instrument, as well. Moffett, who is best known for his virtuosic double bass playing, opted to record the whole album on his fretless electric.

Consider the Source have announced a new batch of tour dates in support of their latest release, “You Are Literally A Metaphor.” The trio of guitarist Gabriel Marin, drummer Jeff Mann, and bassist John Ferrara will spend the summer on tour in the U.S.

Prophets of Rage has released a new single called “Made With Hate,” which is their first new music since last year’s “Heart Afire.” The track is of course anchored by a massive bass line provided by Tim Commerford.

Over a decade after their last album, The Raconteurs have returned to release “Help Us Stranger.” The band consists of Jack White, Brendan Benson, Patrick Keeler, and bassist Jack Lawrence, although it started as a collaboration between White and Benson.

On his sixth solo release, bass monster Doug Johns throws down the gauntlet. “Doug’s Party Mix” is a hard-hitting collection of grooves that will give you a serious case of bass face.

Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real have returned with “Turn Off the News (Build a Garden),” their second full-length release. That’s not to say the band isn’t seasoned. They’ve spent years backing Neil Young as well as the frontman’s father, Willie Nelson.

Duff McKagan is keeping busy this year. He’s just released a solo album, “Tenderness,” and is currently touring behind it. Now it appears he’ll be on the road this Fall with Guns N’ Roses, who just announced new U.S. shows.

Ghost-Note has announced a world tour from June through November. The band, which is helmed by Snarky Puppy percussionists Robert “Sput” Searlight and Nate Werth, will once again feature the eclectic grooves of MonoNeon.

Earth, Wind, & Fire co-founder Philip Bailey has released a new solo album. And though it doesn’t feature him fronting the legendary R&B band, it does have him surrounded by some of the world’s best musicians, including Christian McBride and Derrick Hodge.

The Chris Robinson Brotherhood, anchored by bassist Jeff Hill, has just released their eighth studio effort, entitled “Servants of the Sun.” Described as “bubbling of vintage keyboards and driving rhythm,” the album was born from bandleader Chris Robinson letting his imagination run wild.

Baroness has returned with their fifth album, “Gold & Grey,” which expands their sound by incorporating elements of jazz, prog, and math rock - and featuring the work of bassist Nick Jost.
