Weekly Top 10: Rickenbacker’s 3030 Bass, Angine de Poitrine, and More
This week on No Treble, we shared a rare new offering from Rickenbacker. The 3030 bass combines a 330 semi-hollow guitar body with a super short 24.75-inch scale neck. Rickenbacker offered it up on their Boutique site with five basses in four colorways: Fireglo, Mapleglo, Jetglo, and Walnut. All of them have sold out, but the company tells us they will offer it in limited batches from time to time.
Angine de Poitrine hysteria continues as the band is amid a year of sold-out tour dates. They recently visited London to perform their microtonal mayhem on Later with Jools Holland. The band’s “Sarniezz” is strange, intense, and wholly original.
No Treble’s Bass of the Week is the Schecter FreeZesicle. The purple funk machine is a signature instrument for Morris Day and the Time’s Ricky “Freeze” Smith. Features include a swamp ash body, ebony fingerboard, and EMG electronics.
Other top stories include Billy Gould’s confirmation of a 2027 Faith No More return, Marek Bero’s percussive bass study in A minor, a Wooten Brothers tour, and more. Scroll on to get caught up on the most-read stories on No Treble for the week.
