Daptone Records has been leading the resurgence of classic soul since its inception in 2001. The label, co-created by bassist Gabriel Roth (AKA Bosco Mann), is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the release of a 2-disc live album.

Sometimes you can’t let a good thing get away. That’s why after a few gigs together, Jukka Gustavson, Jan-Olof Strandberg, and Thomas Törnroos created a band and stuck together to make an album. “Natural High” is the group’s debut recording.

No matter the genre, Béla Fleck has always kept the best of musical company in his bands. That goes especially for bassists, and his new album “My Bluegrass Heart” continues that trend.

Australian Punk outfit Amyl and the Sniffers has returned with their second full-length album, entitled “Comfort To Me”. The album’s unrelenting energy is anchored by bassist Fergus Romer, whose biting tone helps to propel the group’s riffs.

King’s X frontman and bass hero Dug Pinnick has announced that his fifth solo album, entitled “Joy Bomb”, will be dropping on October 15th. The record marks his first solo album of new material since 2013.

Pianist, vocalist, and songwriter Rachel Eckroth has released a new album called “The Garden”, which showcases her compositional prowess with a killer lineup of musicians. Eckroth’s husband and musical partner Tim Lefebvre is part of the core band.

Iron Maiden’s seventeenth studio album, “Senjutsu”, is finally available. It marks their second-ever double album and the first since 1998’s “Virtual XI” to feature multiple songs written by Steve Harris alone.
