The Neal Morse Band has returned with their fourth studio album, entitled “Innocence and Danger”. While this marks their third double album in a row, it’s a departure from their previous two as it’s not a concept record.

The Lyle Mays Estate has released the final work of the keyboardist, who passed in 2020. “Eberhard” is a thirteen-minute “mini symphony”, dedicated to Eberhard Weber. Mays paid tribute with two great bassists: Jimmy Johnson and Steve Rodby.

Modern saxophone titan Kenny Garrett has released his 20th album as a leader, entitled “Sounds From the Ancestors”. Many of the polyrhythms throughout the work are held over the muscular bass lines of Corcoran Holt.

After releasing two EPs, Leland Sklar and The Immediate Family have dropped a full-length self-titled album. The new album was recorded over three days at Jackson Browne’s studio in Los Angeles and includes tracks from the previous releases.

Kool & The Gang have returned with a new album called “Perfect Union”. The iconic R&B band, known for their massive hits like “Jungle Boogie” and “Celebration,” bring their mix of dance music with a message of togetherness on the effort.

Adi Meyerson has released a new album called “I Want To Sing My Heart Out In Praise of Life”. The bassist/composer’s second album as a leader is a six-part suite inspired by the work of avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama.

Back in June, Percy Jones announced his new supergroup, PAKT, which includes Alex Skolnick, Kenny Grohowski, and Tim Motzer. The band had a handful of performances, and now the first show has been released as their debut live recording.

Bay Area bassist Tony Saunders has returned with a new solo album called “All About Love”. The contemporary jazz artist brings his influences to the table on original music as well as popular covers.
