Amidst touring with Bass Extremes this year, Victor Wooten has unveiled two of his educational workshops for 2022. The four-day Bass Camp and two-day Music Theory Camp will each be held virtually this year.

Tony Levin recently wrapped up a tour with The Stick Men, and now he’s heading back out on the road with his brother Pete with their band The Levin Brothers. The bassist and pianist will be joined by Aly Ryerson on flute and Jeff Siegel on drums.

During the recording of 2019’s “The Warrior Women of Afro-Peruvian Music”, Matt Geraghty worked with talented musicians from Peru. Now Geraghty has teamed up with one of those artists to release a new duo album, “Afro-Andean Funk”.

Janek Gwizdala is known for his incredible improvisations, both on and off the stage. For his latest project, the bassist recruited keyboardist Tom Cawley and drummer Nicolas Viccaro. The result is a set of EPs and a 45-minute documentary.

Freekbass has announced the second leg of his Funk The World Tour with his band The Bump Assembly, featuring Sammi Garrett. The modern funk outfit will also be welcoming Craig Brodhead on selected dates.

Steve Davis has released “Bluesthetic”, which features a dizzyingly great band. The trombonist is joined by guitarist Peter Bernstein, vibraphonist Steve Nelson, pianist Geoffrey Keezer, drummer Willie Jones III, and bassist Christian McBride.

Michael Schenker Group has returned with a new full-length album entitled “Universal”. The MSG is already anchored by the able hands of Barend Courbois, but “Universal” also features bassists Bob Daisley and Barry Sparks.

The International Society of Bassists is bringing back their Virtual Bass Festival for 2022. The two-day event will be held June 10th and 11th, featuring live presentations, an exhibit hall, “ISB After Hours” nightly hangs, and more.

House of Waters is back with a new EP entitled “Where I Wander”. The band, consisting of Max ZT on hammered dulcimer and Moto Fukushima on six-string bass, compiled the album with two new songs, two reimagined songs, and an open improvisation.

James LoMenzo has been officially welcomed back into Megadeth. The bassist, who was a full-time member in the mid-2000s, is once again a permanent member of the metal outfit.
