I’ve always loved the John Lennon tune, “Jealous Guy” (especially Donny Hathaway’s version). Now I get to add another, thanks to The Main Squeeze. (And check out Grace Kelly’s sax solo!)

Ariane Cap sent me this video this morning for the holidays. Enjoy her beautiful solo bass rendition of her favorite Christmas song, “Silent Night”.

This has been a holiday tradition for many years, thanks to our friend Steve Bailey. Check out this year’s video by Steve and the Berklee Bass Department (with Victor Wooten and Bakithi Kumalo) with an impressive performance with some holiday cheer.

Adam Nitti just shared a new video for the holiday season, with a stunning bass arrangement of “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”.

Our good friend Anthony Cook sent us this video by String Theory Project, which offers up a classic holiday tune with a twist. Anthony and guitarist Bruce Rubin made this arrangement of Vince Guaraldi’s “Linus & Lucy” for the band.

Alex Bershadsky has shared a new original composition called “Merry” that features a mesmerizing ostinato bass line to accompany his vocals. The bassist is joined by keyboardist Rostik Lerman, drummer Sharon Petrover, and trumpeter Gregory Rivkin.

We love sharing videos of impressive young bassists who are giving it their all. Hira Manga includes 10-year-old David William on bass, 13-year-old Tessa on vocals, and their father on guitar. Here they are performing “Come On, Come Over”.
