Tony Grey shares this video he put together using a variety of bass loops and showcasing his new Fodera Signature model. Every one of the loops was recorded using the bass. The tune is “Floating River Yangtze”. So cool.

Aaron Gibson shared this touching video of his solo bass arrangement of the Grateful Dead’s “I Will Take You Home.” Aaron said, “For Daughters and Dads and in memory of Brent Mydland”. Jimi Hendrix’s virtuosic playing inspired millions of musicians, not just guitarists. Evan Brewer sent us this great medley of Hendrix tunes arranged for solo bass with his own twist. Evan starts with a filter-laden “Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)” before kicking into a riff from “Hey Joe”, then into a nice tapping version of “Little Wing” and wrapping up with “Fire”.

Janek Gwizdala took the stage at TC Electronic’s booth during the NAMM 2012 show, and wowed the crowd with his solo bass awesomeness. The performance starts with a nice laid back groove, and continues with some nice soloing (and singing) on top. Janek is playing his new Fodera.

Here’s a cool video for the mesmerizing track “The Net” from Alberto Rigoni’s 2011 album, Rebirth. The song is built entirely of harmonics, which gives it a floating kind of feeling.

Facebook friend Art Araya shared this remarkable and unique video of bassist Doug Alexis performing his own take on “The Chicken”. The tune, written by Pee Wee Ellis, was made popular of course by Jaco Pastorius. This has to be the most creative version we’ve heard yet.

Facebook friend Luke Morris shared this video of bassist Armin Metz performing the tune “Sanskar Valley” on his Neuser bass. Armin is the bassist for Imogen Heap. Here’s an intense jam by bassist Alex Bershadsky, whose incredible groove is matched equally by his impressive technique. The clip features Gal Gershovsky on drums. When you groove it, you gotta move it!

Bassist Federico Malaman pays tribute to Michael Jackson with a live version of the King of Pop’s “Speed Demon.” The song’s title rings true for the blazing lick that Malaman pulls off throughout the clip, starting at the 0:27 mark. You might recognize this bass by Laurus. The Laurus T900-XR was our bass of the week earlier this month.

Time for some more musical goodness from bassist Adam Ben Ezra. This tune, “The Busker” is one of Adam’s original compositions. Is there anything he can’t do with a bass?
