Damnation Audio has unveiled a new distortion pedal for bass players. The company describes the Curmudgeon 2 as a “solid-state power amp distortion that takes your incoming signal, multiplies it by 1000, and slams it into a simulated power amp.”

This week we’re checking out a slick five-string from RG Custom Basses out of Nashville. The bass is set up to be a slapper with a Brubaker Musicman humbucker matched to a Seymour Duncan three-band EQ with a push/pull “slap switch.”

Michael Kelly has expanded its electric bass lineup with the Pinnacle 4-string and 5-string basses. Each of the models are built with a swamp ash body topped with burled poplar in a natural finish.

Carl Martin has unveiled the next evolution of their Octaswitch with “The Strip,” which they call the smallest and most advanced version yet. The effects loop pedal brings the same features as its predecessors while adding versatility.

Line 6 has debuted the POD Go Wireless, an amp and effects processor that builds on the existing POD Go unit with a built-in Relay wireless receiver. The company also includes a Relay G10TII transmitter to play wirelessly right out of the box.

After releasing a beta version last month, Source Audio has unleashed the Ultrawave Multiband Bass Processor. The company calls the pedal a “flexible multiband processing toolbox”.

This Swan Special by Swan Guitars is a real treat for the eyes as well as the ears. The five-string model has a two-piece ash body topped with a beautifully complex flame maple top.

Fodera is celebrating their 38th year in business with a special 2021 Anniversary model, which is a take on their Monarch Elite. The bass features a walnut body with a Zebrawood top to recall some of their earliest designs.

Sire Guitars is expanding their line of Marcus Miller basses this year with two new models, the P5 and the D5. Built upon the bass master’s preferences, both designs share some key features.

Tube Amp Doctor has launched a new series of tubes called the Redbase Line with a new model called the TAD 6L6GCM-STR Redbase. The company describes it as an effective upgrade for virtually any amp that uses 6L6GC or 5881 tubes.

This week we’re checking out a spectacular Caledonius Classic 5 Custom from Poland’s Mayones Guitars. The elegant neck-through five-string is brought to life with a five-piece wenge and purpleheart neck and swamp ash body wings.

Lehle has added to their line of utility pedals with the Dual Expression and the P-ISO. Each unit is made in Germany and utilizes passive isolation with high signal fidelity.
