Last year marked the first-ever bass-specific pedal from Fender, and now they’ve revealed another for later this year. The Trapper Bass Distortion is a modified version of their Trapper that features two distortion circuits.

Harry Fleishman has been building instruments for over fifty years. Although he spent time working for large companies like Fender, he’s always kept designing on his own. This week we’re taking a look at an amazing acoustic fretless bass he built.

Fender introduced the vintage-styled Vintera series last year to pay homage to the instruments from their first three decades as a company. Now they’re offering roasted necks from the series as a separate component.

Rick Link of Beardly Customs shared his latest fretless build with us, and it’s a killer. The 35-inch scale bass features neck-through construction with a three-piece maple and purpleheart neck topped by a cocobolo fingerboard with maple fret lines.

It’s been six decades since Fender first introduced the Jazz Bass, and now they’re celebrating with a special 60th Anniversary Jazz Bass model. The limited-edition bass replicates the original design of the Jazz.

Ibanez has added a new set of basses to their Soundgear line with the SR1100B and SR1105B. The instruments are four- and five-string versions of the same design and come in Sea Foam Green and Pearl White Matte finishes.
