The late Trevor Bolder left an indelible mark on rock music through his work with David Bowie, Uriah Heep, and Mick Ronson. Now, seven years after his passing, the bassist’s first solo album has been released, thanks to his friends.

Jazz bassist and vocalist Katie Thiroux has released a new album called “Live from Caroga Lake, NY”. Captured during the Caroga Lake Music Festival in August of 2019, the six-song set features Thiroux with her trio.

Fifty years after his debut solo album, Paul McCartney has released “McCartney III”. The title is a misnomer as it is his eighteenth solo album, but just as with “McCartney” and “McCartney II”, the album is truly solo.

Groove guru Lorenzo Feliciati has released yet another collaborative album this year, this time with King Crimson drummer Pat Mastelotto. “Portal” is described as a series of audio adventures between the duo.

Eight years after his passing, there will be a new album from the late Deftones bassist Chi Cheng. The Head Up Project will be a spoken word album arriving in early 2021.

Harley Flanagan and Cro-Mags have dropped a new EP to close out a tumultuous year. Aptly entitled “2020”, the six-song collection began to take shape as soon as the pandemic began in March.

WDR Big Band Bassist John Goldsby has just released a new trio album called “Segment Vol. 1”, featuring fellow WDR rhythm section members pianist Billy Test and drummer Hans Dekker.

Goldfinger has returned with their tenth studio album, entitled “Never Look Back”. This is the second release with MxPx frontman Mike Herrera on bass.

Groove rockers Clutch have released the first in album in their new “Weathermaker Vault Series”, which is a collection of cover songs and re-recordings. The project began in 2019 as a series of digital releases.

A month after releasing a new album with Killer Be Killed, Troy Sanders has another new record out with Gone is Gone. “If Everything Happens For A Reason… Then Nothing Really Matters At All” is the second full-length album from the band.

German thrash metal mainstay Sodom has returned with their sixteenth studio album, entitled “Genesis XIX”. The record is the first to feature the band’s new lineup.

Dream Theater’s new album, “Distant Memories – Live In London”, is out now. Recorded at the Apollo Theatre in February, the concert sees the band performing songs from “Distance Over Time” as well as the entirety of “Metropolis Part 2 – Scenes From a Memory”.
